Does a retrofit in my vehicle need to be coded afterwards?

For about 15 years, it has been necessary to unlock or code the electronics in almost all retrofits. This process is described in the installation instructions and can be easily carried out by anyone. Coding is a standard procedure that is required for most work on modern vehicles. Most workshops as well as many private individuals have a tester like VCDS or VCP for this purpose.

If no coding is required, this will be described in the product attributes. Otherwise, all other products must be "activated" after installation according to the installation instructions. For coding work, we recommend the VCDS HEX-V2 Professional program, as it works uncomplicatedly and operates similarly to your vehicle dealer's ODIS tester.

Every capable workshop knows how coding works, and many hobbyists have a VCDS tester. If you still have problems with coding, we are always available to assist you.
