Can I retrofit a rear-view camera in my vehicle?

In general, this question can be answered with a “yes.” Ideally, the camera image should be displayed on the existing screen of the installed radio or navigation system. However, it must always be checked more closely whether the existing radio or navigation system allows and supports such integration.

The camera image can be displayed either on the existing vehicle display or on a separate monitor.

Rear-view camera retrofit in the shop

These original systems support the display of a rear-view camera depending on the system and model year, either via a direct connection or an additional camera interface.

all VW / Audi / Seat / Skoda and Cupra models as well as MAN TGE vehicles equipped with MIB, MIB2 or MIB3, and with a navigation system or navigation preparation installed.

all Audi models equipped with RMC, RMC2, MMI 2G, MMI 3G and MMI 3G+ AND a color display

all VW models equipped with MFD1, MFD2, MFD3, RNS315 and RNS510

all VW models equipped with RNS310 or RCD510 AND an existing camera input – these devices can be identified by the 26-pin connector on the rear side

all Seat models equipped with Trinax from version B and software version 1100

all Skoda models equipped with Amundsen or Bolero AND an existing camera input – these devices can be identified by the 26-pin connector on the rear side

all Skoda models equipped with Columbus from version B and software version 1100
